A goddess is a symbol of strength, confidence, and beauty. From Greek goddesses to queens of history, remarkable women and even close family or friends, their inspiring stories motivate us to be our best selves.
We caught up with 7 models who feature as goddesses in our latest campaign “Feel Like The Masterpiece You Are” to find out who inspires them the most.
Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, courage, and inspiration (among other things) and the infamous Egyptian Queen, Cleopatra, captures the imagination of Carmen Carrerra, a transgender model, who advocates for Human Rights, HIV Prevention and anti-discrimination against transgender women.
But she doesn’t really have a favorite, recognizing that each goddess has her own special beauty and skills – just like our very own Shapermint goddesses (that’s you!)
For her “everyday goddess” Carmen loves Blake Lively, a movie actress and star of Gossip Girl, alongside J-Lo (one of our top 3 celebrity moms we recently blogged about here). More than them though, her mom, she says is “her hero, her biggest support and inspiration” and how during the shoot, she’ll channel the goddess that is her mom to feel “powerful and strong.”
Model Jenny Rieu also sees her mom as a goddess for her strength and the fact she’s “bold and doesn’t give up” because she thinks she’s a little like that too.
For plus-size catwalk model, Denise Bidot, who broke barriers by becoming the first plus-size model to walk multiple runways during New York Fashion Week, it’s her 11-year-old daughter who “challenges and inspires” her as every amazing goddess should.
Celebrity-wise, for Kaelani Amani it’s all about Rhianna “obviously.”
Who’s your everyday goddess? Post a picture of them, or both of you together on your Instagram tagging us with #Shapermint to get featured in our stories.
