Shapermint Cares Bottomless Closet

Shapermint believes in the transformative power of confidence (it's at the heart of our company!) which is why we are so proud of our ongoing partnership with Bottomless Closet, an incredible organization doing meaningful work to help support and empower unemployed women.

About Bottomless Closet:

Based in New York City, Bottomless Closet is a non-profit on a mission to help improve the lives of disadvantaged women striving to join the workforce and sustain their independence with dignity and confidence.

How it works:

Companies and individuals donate quality clothing, shoes, and accessories to Bottomless Closet, which are used to make the organization’s physical location look and feel like a dreamy department store. Clients work with a compassionate, dedicated volunteer who helps them pick out the perfect interview outfit.

But Bottomless Closet’s impact doesn’t stop at a luxurious shopping experience. Clients also work one-on-one with a resume expert to ensure they are properly highlighting their skills and qualifications. Next, they receive personalized interview guidance to help fuel their confidence even further and increase their chances of landing the job. Bottomless Closet also offers several invaluable workshops each month, covering topics like professional development, personal finance, and wellness.

The organization works mainly with low-income women from a variety of backgrounds, offering them not only professional enrichment opportunities, but also a variety of health and wellness programs that help to further empower clients to live with confidence.

What Shapermint is doing to help:

As unemployment rates continue to soar, Shapermint is proud to support Bottomless Closet’s inspiring mission by joining together with our community to donate $100,000 in Truekind bras to the organization. Feeling empowered is an essential part of success, and success (in all its forms) is something that every single woman is worthy of.

Shapermint is also proud to have sponsored an informational virtual wellness workshop for Bottomless Closet on November 13th, which was hosted by Dr. Laura Korin from Twentyeight Health. Dozens of Bottomless Closet’s clients attended the event, which focused on various women’s health issues such as breast cancer prevention, the importance of well-check visits, and an overview of birth control options. On top of the invaluable health information received during the workshop, each attendee also received a Truekind bra.

How you can help:

Bottomless Closet is always looking for clothing donations, so if you’ve been looking for motivation to finally tackle that closet clean-out, consider this it! And in honor of Giving Tuesday on December 1st, we’ll be hosting a one hour Instagram Live at 2pm EST with Taylor Ferraro, Kirsten Ortez and Amy Bartley during which you can learn more about our partnership with Bottomless Closet and hear about the amazing work they do.

You can also donate directly to the organization’s Operation Hope initiative, which is helping support their operations as their clients adjust to the challenges of COVID-19.

Finally, you can help us reach our goal of donating $100,000 worth of Truekind bras to Bottomless Closet just by sharing this link to Facebook (yes...it really is that easy and free!).

And be sure to check out the general Bottomless Closet site for even more info on the tremendous impact they have, and more ways you can get involved.

At Shapermint, we are dedicated to connecting with and empowering our community by giving back. Our partnership with Bottomless Closet is one we hold dear to our hearts, and we’re excited to continue working with the organization and supporting their work as they help women navigate these particularly challenging times.
