Happy International Women’s Day 2023!
It’s been an amazing journey to watch the progress that has been made in the fight for gender parity and equity over the last decade. We’ve made great strides but are still not where we need to be.
So, how can we truly #EmbraceEquity in 2023?
How It All Started
International Women's Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 as a focal point in the women's rights movement, bringing attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women.
What is Body Equity?
The BodCon community embraces body equity in honor of International Women’s Day by valuing and celebrating diverse body shapes and sizes and aiming for all women to have equal opportunities for confidence but acknowledging that everyone’s resources and pathway to confidence are not the same.
Understanding The Difference Between Equity and Equality
Equality means each individual or group of people is given the same resources or opportunities.
Equity recognizes that each person has different circumstances, and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome.
Strike the #EmbraceEquity pose
Let’s come together and inspire the next generation to treat each other with kindness and respect no matter what race, gender identity, or ability, for us to create an inclusive space where each of us can have a sense of belongingness.
Together we can challenge stereotypes and discrimination and create an environment where women can #embraceequity and #embracebodyequity and celebrate radical self-acceptance and self-confidence.
